Hi everyone; Tom here!
I just wanted to share the birthday suprise Kris and Lilly gave me last week. Soooo, Kris was out "doing errands" last Satuday. She called me and asks me out to meet her for lunch. (This was not a suprise since it was her turn to cook and I forgot to lay something out). So she picked me up and went to one our our favorite eateries. We chatted about our upcomming trip to a conference in NY. Kris,a collegue or ours and I are presenting,so we talked about how exciting it was going to be to take Lilly to Central Park. Other than that, our conversation was nothing out of the ordinary. (I did not notice the unusual number of restaurant staff milling about out front door). As I proceeded to put Lilly in her car seat, Kris came around from the backside of the Jeep and handed me a box and said Happy Birthday! This is something to keep you dreaming!" I opened the box and inside was a new motorcycle helmet. Not being to quick on the uptake, I said "thank you" and proceeded to put on the helmet. I said "I am going to wear it home" then started getting into the front seat of the jeep. From this point on it became a bit surreal. I had this helmet on with a crowd of people standing about, then Kris hands me a set of keys. She said "I will see you at home." I just stood staring at those keys thinking to myself these are not my keys. Now, by this time I had to remove the helmet to see what I was really holding in my hand. I muttered something like "what did you do?", she smiled this beautiful smile at me and I looked around the parking lot. Over in the corner was a beautiful Black and Gray motorcycle. The restaurant manager said the expression on my face was priceless. It took at least 15 minutes to sink in as Kris, Lilly and I went over to check out my new ride. I didnt know whether to laugh at how well she suprised me, or to cry at the "dream gift" she got me.
