Funnel cakes...the ultimate distraction!

So, my parents have been here for a couple of weeks now, as my dad goes to Duke for tests. Sunday Sept. 21 was a gorgeous day here in Durham. Tom, mom, Lilly and I decided to spend the day at a downtown art festival. The items for sale were neat, but what really caught my mom's attention was the FUNNEL CAKE STAND. Remember when they were here before and mom had her very first funnel cake at the Durham Bulls game? Well, once she saw the sign at the fair, there was nothing that was going to stop her from chowing down one of those fried-dough-delights. The four of us sat down, were eating snacks, etc. You would have thought that mom had been transported to another planet. NOTHING took her attention, no even LF, from enjoying that funnel cake! She even took LG's blanket to use as a (much-needed) napkin!
