Lilly's first Christmas dinner...

Grandma and TuTu got all of the fixin's ready for us; no way were we depriving LG of the goodness of a Christmas dinner! She had sweet taters, mashed taters....and um...well, what else is there? LOL! The series of pictures had me in stitches laughing. Hope you enjoy!

Is it ready yet?

Mmmmmm....lots of starches!

Hey! I recognize this thing from my house!

Yes! I will impress the family and have some manners on Christmas!

Watch me maneuver this spoon...

Am I a big girl, or what?

Yummmmmm........

This is way too much work!

THIS is how to enjoy a Christmas dinner!

Keeping with what Lilly finds entertaining....

My mom wanted to keep the Christmas pink in celebration of Lilly's first. And the simple fact that Lilly's first Christmas would be in Florida, she could not resist purchasing this PINK FLAMINGO SANTA CLAUS to have in the house. It is truly one of those things that you see in the drug store and think to yourself..."who would ever buy such a thing?" Well, now you know. And Lilly had so much fun with it. She wanted to wave her hands like the flamingo, dance like it, you'll even see in the video how she now leans allll the way over to get a better look at something!

Does the catchy tune have you back in the Christmas spirit already? LOL!

Great Aunt TuTu

New to the blog is my aunt (LG's great aunt) Jeanie. Young'uns in the family call her TuTu because she lived in Hawaii for many years and that's what they call their respected elders/grandparents. Lilly had plenty of giggles and grins for TuTu. i believe that they really hit it off. Thanks again TuTu for all of your help getting ready for our visit! :) We love you!

Notice the non-Christmas weather? With 3" on the ground today here in NC, I whined a bit when I posted this one!

Christmas time in Florida...

with Grandma and the $%@#$%@#% dog! Bentley always PULLS my mom down the street! Here she is trying to manage a stroller and the @$%@$ dog! LOL! Bentley didn't like LG very much until my mom started taking her on walks with them. Somehow, that made LG and Bentley "best buds!"

My mom and aunt Jeanie had the house VERY ready for LG's visit. We were so grateful, as we did not have to pack a thing. She had strollers, car seats, high chairs, walkers, 2 pack & plays and TONS of toys. Thank you mom and auntie TuTu!

Grandma's feet are sooo funny!

Other than my mom's feet being not-so-pretty, we were never able to figure out why Lilly thought that this was so funny....but she was thoroughly entertained!

Lilly G's First Christmas Tree

Sunday, the day after our arrival to West Palm Beach, Tom, Grandma Courtney and I took Lilly to pick out her first Christmas tree. She could not wait to get inside to choose one for herself!

To her, the choice was simple! We were amazed at how marveled she was by the trees. This one she reached for immediately!

And then she didn't want to let go!

Loaded up and ready to go decorate!

She was fascinated with the lights...

Here's a pic of the final product. Tom and I had shopped for months preparing for this tree. We found so many cute ornaments that were geared toward "baby girl" - we adorned the tree with pink diaper pins, pink glass baby bottles, girlie toy boxes, ducks, angel bunnies, swan, lamb, lil' pink bibs and baby dresses, baby stockings, lots of pink ribbon, etc. We had many personalized with "Lilly's First Christmas" too. The tree was topped with a satin Cross with the words "God Bless Baby's First Christmas" in pink (pictured crooked below - Thanks Tom!). I carefully packed each of them to pass along to Lilly when she grows up and has a daughter of her own!

Aunt Grandma Joyce

On the way to visit Grandma and Grandpa C for Christmas, we stopped in St. Augustine for a visit with my (KC) aunt Joyce. Although she is my aunt, LG calls her "aunt grandam" because Joyce always calls herself both! They hit it off immediately! We had such a nice visit. We went to dinner with Joyce and my uncle Pat, stayed the night an a lovely suite (Joyce has cats!) and got up to hit the outlet mall! Aunt Grandma Joyce makes it feel like Christmas almost every day in the Buzzerd-Courtney household! Very close to her home are the Carter's, Gymboree & Osh Kosh outlets! She sends LG the cutest clothes! This time, we got to help pick them out! We had a ball looking at all of the adorable clothes for her! Afterwards, we went on a quick tour of Joyce and Pat's GORGEOUS home. The pool in their backyard made us miss living in Florida! We love our Aunt Grandma! :) You have always been such a wonderful aunt and friend.

LG, meet Aunt Grandma Joyce!

8 mo. videos

Lilly and Mrs. Flowers!

THANKS, MOM!

While at my folks' house for Christmas, my mom shared everything with LG. Now that she is interested in solid foods and beverages other than formula, LG thinks that she should be able to partake in items that might not be so good for babies! BUT, she becomes quite adamant. ESPECIALLY ABOUT COCA-COLA!

Lilly's first bubble bath!

Grandma and Grandpa Courtney put us up in a nice hotel in Savannah for the night to break up our trip from FL. They had a great, big jacuzzi tub. Tom and LG hopped in, put in some Baby Bath stuff and here's what happened! :)

LG studies the water...water bubbles but no bubble bath yet!

Hey! Look at these bubbles!

Our Lilly Grace is 8 mos old!

(Actually, she's 9 mos. tomorrow, but I've not had time to blog!)

At 8 months, Lillly:

Is enjoying solids...
Has figured out the sippy cup...
Mimics facial expressions and vocal sounds...
Has 1 top tooth almost all the way in, and 2 others to make appearances soon...
(Still) refuses to crawl, but is "scooting" to the things she wants badly enough...
Loves to pull hair (from the most painful spot by the temples!) and laughs...
Is very social with everyone...
Plays with the tags on toys more than the toys themselves...
Recognizes voices on the telephone...
Requires her nails to be clipped every other day...
Has curly blonde hair in the back of her head...
Says "mamama" and "dadada"...
Has a brand new, luxurious car seat (thanks to Aunt Grandma Joyce!)...
Has "conversations" with her toys...
Studies everything...
Goes to bed at 9 each night and sleeps through most nights.

Promise to have Christmas pics on soon! There are some great ones!

Some FAVORITE pics!

Gang, I've been so busy since our return. I've been intending to get on here and write wonderful narratives about our time in Florida. Some pictures I've been putting aside as those that are just awesome, but don't necessarily tell a story. (It really does take some time to organize a bunch of pics!) Rather than waiting any longer for these though, I will get a few on here while LG is asleep right now! She never naps at this time. Guess daddy wore her out - he got to stay home with her for a North Carolina SNOW DAY! More pics and stories to come!

LG PROUD of her 2 teeth!

New toy from Santa!

She knows when to smile for the camera! (pls ignore un-vacuumed floor!)

The things we do to infants! LOL!

Clearly not her favorite ensemble!

LG in a Christmas outfit that didn't make her cry!
