Street Painting Festival
This weekend, I took Lilly to a festival in downtown Lake Worth where (at least) 100 artists used chalk to create masterpieces on the asphalt. We had a blast! Lilly's favorite, of course, were the Disney images that the artists completed. There was even a 3 dimensional drawing where you looked through a apecial glass to see the image. We ate "fair" food, got a balloon Ariel from Little Mermaid, got inside a firetruck and did our own share of decorating the street! Lilly really got into it! We were assigned our square for her to "chalk" in - she got so serious that she even took off her shoes and socks! Her masterpiece consisted of a blue sun. I drew SpongeBob and Mickey Mouse (at the true artists' request!).

Lilly Ice Skates in Florida!
A couple of weekends ago, Lilly and I were at the park. Lilly made new friends, Lynsey and Lira, and played in the sandbox with them. I talked to their mom, Lori, who is a gold-medal winning figure skating coach! She offered to teach Lilly how to skate! So we went to the ice rink on Saturday morning. Lilly did not even hesitate to put on her teeny tiny skates and hit the ice! She LOVED it! She kept telling Lori, "I do it by myself!" (which is her mantra these days!), but she didn't have a helmet on so Lori held onto her pretty closely. When Lori had to stop with Lilly, Lilly got soooo upset! She wanted more! So, we are taking her back this weekend for another lesson!
Lori sits Lilly down on the ice to explain about the ice, and her skate blades!

No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
We got Lilly a full-sized mattress this weekend. She's such an active sleeper, and was getting up several times a night. We believed that she's doing this because she's bumping herself in her toddler bed. So, we set up a full-sized bed for her - and she slept though the night her first night in it! She took full advantage, however, of her small bed's mattress being on the floor temporarily. Here she is doing her rendition of "No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed"- complete with the "bumping her head" part! I wish I had this much energy!
