We had a great time in the city, did well on presenting, made new contacts and bought so much stuff our jeep was busting at the seams!
I must say that having Lilly with us was a treat. She melted the hearts of even the most brash New Yorkers! (Not saying this just b/c she's mine!) EVERYONE stops to talk to her...and she talks back. She smiles and giggles at anyone who says hello. There were a couple of times when I actually got frustrated because I wanted to shop, but LG gathered crowds! She is such a sweet little girl. How lucky I am!
There was some talk about job opportunities there; for Tom with the neuro-psychiatry department at Columbia, and for me some contracting opportunities to assist with grant-writing. Not to move! Only to contract! Hopefully a couple of trips to NYC will be in the next year or so.
I also have to say that I(we) really struggled with not having the girls with us on this trip. The 5 of us would have soooo much fun visiting all of the fun stores, sites, etc. We are extremely excited about seeing them soon. I know that LG misses them too!
